Spotted Towhee
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with annual precipitation more than 1134 mm and April maximum temperature (hex. max.) of 12-18 C. Almost equally likely to occur in hexagons with somewhat less annual precipitation (358-1134 mm), and May minimum temperature (hex. max.) of 3-8 C and elevation (hex. avg.) of less than 1420 ft. Also occur in drier conditions (358 mm), if terrain is relatively flat and June minimum temperature (hex. max.) is 5-6 C. In the driest parts of its range (218-303 mm), it occurred in hexagons with greater road density. The logistic regression analysis showed positive or negative association with elevation (hex. avg.), topographic variation, the extent of public land, April precipitation (hex. avg.), April precipitation (hex. max.), July precipitation (hex. min.)
